ACCESSIBILITY AT THE KONZERTHAUS FREIBURG
We have an ongoing commitment to our visitors and event organisers to make their time at the Konzerthaus as accessible as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do you assist you personally. We are happy to help event organisers with additional measures, such as special furniture, arranging for sign language interpreters or providing documents in Braille. Please let us know about your requirements.
PEOPLE WITH RESTRICTED MOBILITY
GETTING HERE
By public transport
Barrier-free access from the station. The main train and bus station is located just a short distance from the Konzerthaus. (Wheelmap)
Travelling by car, parking
Disabled parking spaces are available in the Konzerthaus car park. A wheelchair-accessible lift will take you to the forecourt of the Konzerthaus. (Wheelmap)
BARRIER-FREE visit to the Konzerthaus Freiburg
Access to the Konzerthaus is barrier-free. None of the entrance doors have thresholds and all are wide enough for wheelchair users. Moving between all levels of the foyer is easy thanks to a lift adapted to the needs of the disabled.
Barrier-free access to all of the events spaces and foyers is a given. That’s the only way hosting an event and visiting the Konzerthaus can be enjoyed by everyone. All service and event areas are accessible for people with limited mobility. There are disabled toilets on all floors.
WHEELCHAIR SPACES
There are designated spaces provided in all of our rooms for people in wheelchairs. In the Rolf Böhme Saal, the wheelchair spaces are either in the side tiers or in the last row of seats in the stalls depending on the room option and the seating concept. In all cases, we ask you to specify your need for a wheelchair space directly with the relevant event organiser in advance when booking your ticket.
PEOPLE WHO ARE HARD OF HEARING
Rolf Böhme Saal and Runder Saal:
Those who are hard of hearing can get hearing assistance using the MobileConnect app. The app streams the audio signals in real time via WiFi straight to your smartphone. Visitors use their own smartphones as the receiver for their personal hearing assistance. The Personal Hearing Assistant in the MobileConnect app allows you to adjust the tone, volume and intelligibility to your own individual requirements.
The MobileConnect app is available for free on iOS and Android, and is convenient to use for all user groups.
Conference room 9:
Conference room 9 is equipped with an induction hearing loop.
PEOPLE WHO ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
For people who are visually impaired, the floor numbers in the lift are indicated in Braille. Please feel free to speak to us before your visit if you require any further assistance.
INFORMATION FOR EVENT ORGANISERS
Visitor access to the public area is barrier-free. It is also possible to reach all levels of the foyer without any obstacles from the delivery area using the goods lift. Reaching the stages in the Rolf Böhme Saal and the Circular Hall is partly barrier-free. Please get in touch so that we can clarify this with you beforehand in relation to your individual event concept and use of space.
We’ll be happy to support you with additional measures, such as special furniture, arranging for sign language interpreters or providing documents in Braille. Please let us know about your requirements.
